The first M-Care sub-acute hospital opened its doors more than 17 years ago. M-Care owns and manages a national network of private hospitals that provide a combination of general sub-acute care, acute and sub-acute psychiatric care, sub-acute physical rehabilitation care and related services. The founders of M-Care are regarded as experts in the sub-acute field and have actively been involved in setting standards of quality sub-acute care.
The M-Care brand is synonymous with quality amongst all healthcare stakeholders, including the medical schemes and patients.
There are 5 M-Care hospitals operational with 193 beds. A further three are being commissioned with 139 beds and will be operational in 2013. Most of M-Care's hospitals have specialised units, including physical rehabilitation units, medical and post-surgical units as well as psychiatric units.
